The material would belong to the Manuel Alexander Ariza Rosario Substructure of this illegal group.
In the framework of the Ayacucho Plus Campaign Plan, soldiers of the Rainforest Battalion N.° 57, attached to the Eleventh Brigade of Colombian National Army, with the support of the Colombian Navy, found a communications center that was allegedly used for the command and control of the criminal substructures of the organized armed group, GAO, Clan del Golfo that commits crimes in the municipalities of Zaragoza, El Bagre and Segovia, in the department of Antioquia.
Through intelligence work, the troops arrived at the village of La Primavera, of El Bagre, where they found four radios, several meters of cable, batteries, a notebook with disciplinary regime statutes of the AGC and a language table for the military Combat operation (IOC).
The communications elements would in the same way be used to conduct and direct attacks against the Military Forces and inhabitants of the aforementioned areas of the department of Antioquia.
Additionally, during the operation, the surrender to justice of an alleged member of this armed group was reported, who expressed his intentions to rejoin civil society under the law.
The material was put into custody of the authorities, with the aim of continuing with the corresponding investigations.
With the finding of these elements, the lines of communication of the different criminal structures and components of the GAO Clan del Golfo that converge in these sectors of Bajo Cauca region and Northeast Antioquia are considerably interrupted.
