A new blow against the illicit activities of drug trafficking was dealt by Colombian National Army in the west of Huila. In an operation carried out by troops of the 26th Cacique Pigoanza Infantry Battalion, of the Ninth Brigade, a shipment of 99 kilograms of cocaine hydrochloride was found, which would have been destined for the international market.
The incident was reported in a rural area, municipality of La Plata, when the soldiers were carrying out a check post. When they made the stop sign to the driver of a van-type vehicle that was traveling from Cauca, he abandoned it and started to escape towards the wooded area.
When inspecting the car, the members of the Military Forces found modifications in the structure of the vehicle, inside which 99 rectangular packages wrapped in plastic were hidden. According to the first verifications, the drug would belong to the Hernando Gonz谩lez Acosta structure, of the residual organized armed groups, led by alias Iv谩n Mordisco.
The shipment would cost more than 12,000 million pesos in the domestic market and about 3.2 million dollars in the international one. This finding prevented the distribution of approximately 188,000 doses, closing one of the routes used to take narcotics abroad.
Immediately, the judicial authorities were alerted and the vehicle, along with the material, was put into custody of the CTI (Technical Investigations Corps) of the Prosecutor's Office, in charge of conducting the prosecution process.
