Troops of the Rainforest Infantry Battalion No. 19 General José Joaquín París Ricaurte, of the Rainforest Brigade No. 22, in coordination with the National Police, found, destroyed and prosecuted a laboratory used for the production of cocaine hydrochloride in the Casa Roja sector, Caño Negro village, rural area of the municipality of San José del Guaviare.
The operation was made possible thanks to a coordinated military intelligence work, which led to the identification of the construction used by the GAO-r Structure 44 Antonio Ricaurte. The laboratory was destroyed in controlled conditions, dealing a direct blow to their illicit activities and generating a loss estimated at more than 500 million pesos.
During the operation, the troops dismantled four structures used for the production of the drug, including a building measuring 10 x 15 meters and 3 measuring 8 x 6 meters, built of wood and plastic for the operation of the criminal complex.
Important volumes of liquid supplies essential for the production of cocaine hydrochloride were found by troops at the site, including 170 gallons of sulfuric acid and 370 gallons of gasoline, which were neutralized under technical security protocols.
In the same way, solid precursors such as 100 kilograms of cement, 200 kilograms of white lime, 100 kilograms of ammonia and 100 kilograms of bicarbonate were found by troops, used for the different chemical stages in the production of the narcotic.
The troops in the same way found equipment, machinery and elements used in the illicit activity, including presses, a compressor, microwave ovens, power generators, storage tanks, improvised drying systems, tools, USB operations, stamps, bags, galvanized pipes, washing machines and gas cylinders. All this material was neutralized and destroyed according to the technical procedures established by the institution.
This result of the military operation demonstrates the effectiveness of military operations in the territory and the commitment of Colombian National Army to continue to steadily weaken the criminal structures specialized in drug trafficking in the southeast of the country.
Each operation carried out not only reduces the financial capacity of organized armed groups, but in the same way strengthens security, citizen confidence and State presence in the department of Guaviare, protecting communities and contributing to the stabilization of the region.
