National Army found and destroyed four explosive devices in Cesar

These improvised munitions were intended to be used against the inhabitants and the Military Forces.

 

Troops of the National Army conducted in El Cesar found four explosive devices in the rural area of the municipality of San Isidro, municipality of Pailitas, which were allegedly planted by members of the Organized Armed Group, GAO, ELN.

 

Through intelligence work, it was possible to know the location of the devices, which were hidden in the access road to this sector, which is used daily by the people who reside in the place.

 

Once the situation was known, immediately the Marte Group of the First Division activated the security protocols to carry out in a controlled way the detonation of the explosive charges, without causing collateral damage, thus safeguarding the good physical condition of the people and the Military Forces.

 

The Tenth Brigade, unit a of the First Division, rejects the use of such improvised explosive devices that violate human rights and violate international humanitarian law by the use of unconventional means and methods of war; this unit will in the same way make the necessary denunciations to the authorities.

 

The National Army will continue to carry out military operations to ensure the security and tranquillity of the people of the department of Cesar. It in the same way it urges the people to report any suspicious acts through the 147 hotline.
