In Palestina, department of Huila, Colombian National Army found an illegal hiding place of war elements of the GAO-r Rodrigo Cadete.
Within the framework of military operations to weaken the structures of the residual organized armed groups that commit crimes in the department of Huila, troops of the Light Infantry Battalion No. 27 Magdalena, thanks to military intelligence work and in coordination with the investigations team against organized crime of the Sijín, of the Police of Huila Department, reported the finding of an illicit hiding place of war items and military accessories in the Jerico village, municipality of Palestina, department of Huila.
According to intelligence information, the confiscated items allegedly belonged to the GAO-r Rodrigo Cadete, and would be used to support extortion activities in the municipalities of Palestina, Acevedo and Suaza, department of Huila.
Through this important result of the military operation, the logistical and military resources of this residual organized armed structure are significantly damaged.
During the operation, a pistol, a revolver, an M85 fragmentation grenade, 72 pamphlets alluding to the GAO-r Rodrigo Cadete, 3 multipurpose vests, 6 pixelated uniforms, 8 pixelated jackets, 5 pairs of boots, 2 hammocks and a camouflage fabric were seized. All the elements were put into custody of the authority for the corresponding judicial procedures.
