National Army neutralized explosive device planted near a school in Dagua, Valle del Cauca

The neutralization of this terrorist operation is the result of the Tormenta military campaign, an operation being carried out in this municipality in the south of Valle del Cauca, which aims to protect the indigenous and peasant communities of the region.

Troops of the High Mountain Battalion No.3 of the Third Brigade of the National Army, neutralize an explosive device in the municipality of El Queremal de Dagua, Valle del Cauca, used by minors and peasants. The controlled destruction of this powerful cylinder-type device was carried out at the site; it had been apparently planted by the Organized Armed Group residual Jaime Martínez.

In the sector where these devices were found by troops and destroyed, at least 60 people of these communities transit daily, having in mind that a rural school is found near this place. These operations by these outlaw groups flagrantly violate respect for Human Rights and International Humanitarian Law of civilians.
