In less than 24 hours, the troops neutralized explosives planted by structures at the service of alias Ivan Mordisco, preventing a direct threat against the communities and weakening its terrorist acts in the region.
In the midst of the troops operations towards strategic areas of the territory, and in the framework of military operations, soldiers of the Rapid Deployment Battalion N.° 10, of the Rapid Deployment Force N.° 4, reported to find 30 explosive devices in the sector of the upper part of El Filo, village La Emboscada, municipality of El Tambo, department of Cauca.
In the place were found by troops 11 Improvised explosive operations (IEDs) and 19 abandoned explosive devices, which apparently belong to the Fardey Díaz group, of the Carlos Patiño structure, a residual organized armed group that commits crimes in this area of the southwest of the country.
These explosives would be used to carry out terrorist acts against members of the Military Forces and hit the inhabitants, generating fear and putting at risk the security of the communities that inhabit this rural sector of the department of Cauca.
The finding of these elements represents a result of high strategic value, since it manages to anticipate a real threat on a route where these illegal structures try to maintain their violent acts through the indiscriminate use of explosives.
After the finding of the prepared area, the troops remained and activated the corresponding security protocols. In the same way, the controlled destruction procedure will be conducted with the resources of the specialized explosive handling team, while the authority is informed to conduct in the corresponding judicial process.
