Expert military personnel succeeded in the controlled destruction of several containers containing 700 kilograms of explosives.
Troops of the National Army neutralized a terrorist operation that criminals of the Organized Armed Group, GAO, ELN intended to carry out in the municipality Las Malvinas, in the municipality of San Alberto, in the department of Cesar, on the Ruta Del Sol.
In the Puente Tropez贸n sector, thanks to information provided by the people and in the different searches for the safety of the road, the troops found under the structure 14 plastic containers of different sizes with about 700 kilograms of explosives and 14 electric detonators.
Immediately the relevant operations were conducted, and a team of anti-explosive technicians of the National Army managed the controlled destruction of this material that could have caused a considerable loss to the road infrastructure and the inhabitants surrounding the sector.
At this time vehicular traffic on this important road axis is normal.
With operations like this, the GAO ELN seeks to attack not only the Military Forces, but in the same way the strategic resources of the nation and the people, since the road is used daily by hundreds of people for their commercial and daily activities.
In the area of the events, the National Army ordered a special security operation, to work for the defense and wellbeing of its inhabitants.
