These explosive charges of great destructive power had been planted in the vicinity of one of the main roads in the region, with the intention of attacking the Military Forces and the inhabitants.
In the last few hours, in compliance with the Ayacucho Joint Strategic Campaign Plan and within the framework of military operations, troops of the Twenty-Third Brigade of Colombian National Army destroyed two explosive devices in controlled conditions in the rural area of the municipality of Yancuanquer, department of Nariño.
These explosive devices, which had been planted less than 200 meters of the road, near houses, a coffee plantation and where inhabitants of the region constantly pass, including children and the elderly, were destroyed by the technicians of the DELTA explosives and demolition group, who carry out all the security protocols to prevent any damage.
The mined area was apparently installed by members of the organized armed groups that commit crimes in the region.
