National Army neutralizes laboratory valued at more than four million dollars

This joint operation with the Colombian Air Force and interinstitutional with the Technical Research Corps, prevents the distribution of about two and a half tons of cocaine hydrochloride.

 

In an operation led by the Third Division and the Aviation and Air Assault Division of the National Army, they allow to a decisive blow against the illegal finances of the Organized Armed Group ELN, in the department of Nariño.

 

Troops of the Anti-Drug Trafficking Brigade and the Twenty-Third Brigade, in a coordinated effort with the Technical Research Corps, destroyed a cocaine hydrochloride production laboratory in the village of Buenavista, municipality of Los Andes, which would belong to the Jaime Toño Obando militia.

 

This complex had eight structures equipped with microwave ovens, motor pumps, two hydropumps, industrial heaters, fans, an electricity plant, a hydraulic press and supplies used for the preparation of drugs.

 

This laboratory, which would cost more than USD 4 million, had the capacity to produce approximately five tons per month of this narcotic. All material was put into custody of the authority for judicial process.
