This terrorist operation that would be perpetrated by the Organized Armed Group, GAO, Martha Elena Baron Group, commits crimes in the municipality of Tame, Arauca.
In the framework of stability operations, National Army troops neutralized four means of launching and two improvised explosive devices, which were intended to be used against civilians and security forces, in the rural area of the municipality of Tame, Arauca, apparently by members of the GAO Eln.
Thanks to the constant tasks in the framework of military operations by the members of the security forces, troops found these illicit methods and means of warfare prohibited by the rules of IHL, exactly in the village of Santa Inés, a few meters from a main road, where peasants, merchants and different productive groups of the department of Arauca pass daily.
It should be noted that the special group of explosives and demolitions (EXDE), established that they were explosive charges, with methods of activation by command cable, proceeding to destroy the four means of launch and the two explosive devices under controlled conditions; preventing that the inhabitants of the region became victims of these criminal acts.
The National Army rejects these unconventional means and methods of warfare, which are systematically used by Organized Armed Groups for the purpose of attacking civilians and security forces, in violation of the provisions of International Humanitarian Law.
