For the first time a team of Colombian military participated in explosive ordnance disposal exercises with different armies of the world.

In order to generate an exchange of knowledge to strengthen the demining operation in Colombia, the National Center Against Improvised Explosive Devices and Mines, CENAM, sent a team of officers and non-commissioned officers to White Sands Missile Range, in New Mexico, United States, where they participated in explosive ordnance disposal exercises.

Two officers and two non-commissioned officers of the army Engineers were in charge of representing the institution; these soldiers were in the range of White Sands, for 11 days, where they demonstrated the Resources of the National Army to face the problem of the explosive devices. In the same way, they could know of the doctrine and specialized equipment that have their counterparts in the United States, Mexico and Canada.

The Colombian delegation interacted with 16 expert teams in explosive ordnance disposal, who carried out activities such as the procedure for finding, neutralization and, if necessary, the deactivation of explosive ordnance.

This exercise was carried out by the National Center Against Improvised Explosive Devices and Mines, in order to strengthen international cooperation ties between the National Army and the Armies of other countries.
