In the framework of the commemoration of International Earth Day, Heroes of the Homeland continue to reaffirm their commitment as custodians of the environment in this department.

The National Army and its Program Fe en Colombia planted about 450 native trees at the Buenavista military base, La Guajira; including fruit trees that will be used for the conservation of forests and water basins.

In the same way, the soldiers have been working during 2021 for the environment in the reforestation of parks, water bodies and military bases in the different departments that are part of the First Division of the National Army.

The main objective of these reforestation works is to contribute to the recovery of the environment, helping to make the soils more fertile, favoring the fauna; since trees are the natural habitat of many animals.

Men and women of the Engineers Battalion no. 10, the Combined Arms Task Force, the Maintenance Battalion for direct support no.3, The Comprehensive Action and Development Support Battalion no.1 and the Program Fe en Colombia have worked in these environmental activities.
