Thanks to the operations of the soldiers led in the Catatumbo, in the last week it has been possible to considerable hit the illegal armed structures that commit crimes in the region.
Troops of Rapid Deployment Force No.3, attached to the Second Division of the National Army, in military operations and intelligence work, have achieved important results in the last week in favor of security in the Catatumbo region.
Within the operations against illegal structures, in coordination with the National Police and the CTI (Technical Investigations Corps) of the Attorney General's Office, three alleged members of the Organized Armed Group, GAO, Eln, were arrested. Two of the arrests took place in Teorama, where alias Perico, ringleader of the group of the terrorist support network of the company H茅roes del Catatumbo; and alias Dago, member of the same group were apprehended by court order. These criminals were directly involved in the hostilities and terrorist operations that have been carried out against the Military Forces in the municipality.
In other actions, it was possible to arrest alias Tap贸n, in the municipality of Oca帽a, apparently a member of the Organized Gang, GDO, Pate Grillo at the service of the Juan Fernando Porras Mart铆nez front, who had an arrest warrant in force for the crimes of association for committing aggravated crimes, fuel theft and environmental pollution. Similarly, three individuals were arrested in flagrante delicto, in the municipality of Hacar铆, for the crime of conservation or financing of plantations, who were traveling in a truck-type vehicle, carrying approximately 2,000 kilos of apparently coca plants.
Simultaneously, and thanks to the expertise of the Marte and Delta groups, the vehicle left days ago by the residual GAO Estructura 33 was revised on the road axis that connects Hacar铆 with Bel茅n Beach, in the frame of the fight against explosive devices and facilitating de transit on the road, recovering the tranquility of those who transit through the sector.
On the other hand, in the last days different terrorist operations were neutralized in the municipalities of Hacar铆, San Calixto, and Oca帽a, with the finding and controlled destruction of nine landmines, three unexploded ordnance and two improvised explosive devices planted by the Organized Armed Groups a few meters from inhabited houses and licit plantations; these operations are intended to attack on the good physical condition of the civilians and the Military Forces.
In the frontal fight against drug trafficking, in the municipalities of Hacar铆, Teorama, Convenci贸n and Oca帽a, seven laboratories for the production of coca base paste, as well as a laboratory for the production of cocaine hydrochloride were dismantled, finding 450 kilos of solid precursors and 760 gallons of liquid precursors, achieving to hit the drug trafficking chain by approximately 267 million pesos.
Finally, it was possible to recover a Toyota van that had been abandoned in the municipality of Llano Verde, in the municipality of Oca帽a, which was put into custody of the SIJIN (JUDICIAL POLICE), thereby preventing possible terrorist attacks to disturb the order of the region.
