One hundred and forty people allegedly intended to appropriate an export-type coffee container; it would cost 600 million pesos.

In the village of La Frijolera, in the municipality of Valdivia, Antioquia, soldiers of the Joint Task Force Aquiles, in a military operation coordinated with the National Police and with the support of the social leaders of the region, managed to find an overturned truck type vehicle with a cargo of imported coffee with more than 14,500 kilograms, which was going to be stolen by some inhabitants of the sector, after a traffic accident on the Western Trunk.

Thanks to the timely reaction of the National Army troops and the support of the people, it was possible to guard the sector and talk peacefully with more than 140 people, some with balaclavas, sticks and stones, who crowded at the point were trying to loot the container that was heading to the city of Cartagena.

After mediating with the people and preventing the theft, the select coffee was returned to the company that owns the cargo.

The National Army reminds residents that any suspicious situation on the roads can be reported on the national toll-free line 147, in order to preserve security, law and order and the well-being of residents and visitors.
