National Army provides security on the roads of Putumayo

The National Army had 25 checkpoints throughout the territory and more than 1,000 men, whose mission is to guarantee road safety and the protection of the inhabitants, a task that is carried out in coordination with the National Police and coordinated with the civil authority.

National Army troops in the department of Putumayo are in the different roads, with the aim of ensuring the free movement of cargo vehicles, which have transported near 1,674 tons of food, precursors and medicines and 440,000 gallons of fuel to supply the thirteen municipalities, with the purpose of mitigating the crisis of shortages in the area.

In the same way, in the framework of military assistance, the Army, the Government of Putumayo and the mayors of Orito, Puerto As铆s and Sibundoy made three peasant markets with the aim of contributing to the economic reactivation of the region and support the sacrificed work of Putumayo farmers. With these markets it was possible to sell 6 tons of food approximately by 12 million pesos.

Similarly, in response to the contingency by the rain wave in the municipality of Puerto As铆s, Los Pinos neighborhood and its surroundings more than 10,000 liters of water were distributed, to benefit about a hundred families in the sector.

This important operation carried out by the soldiers led throughout Putumayo territory, is carried out under the permanent accompaniment of all the commanders of the tactical units of the Twenty-Seventh Brigade, who supervise law and order and road safety operations, with the aim of bringing a message of hope and well-being to the troops and remind that the National Army serves the Colombian people with honor.
