The National Army in Quindío finds more than 1,500 kilos of creepy marijuana, hidden in cane pieces

The unusual way of hiding the hallucinogens allowed the transport without the authorities noticing it with the naked eye.

More than a ton and a half of creepy marijuana were found by troops by men of the Eighth Brigade of the National Army in a rural house, near the road that leads from Montenegro to Quimbaya, in the municipality of El Chaquiro, in the department of Quindío.

The territorial control tasks of the Eighth Brigade and the troops of the Engineer Battalion No.8 Francisco Javier Cisneros, and the information provided by the people led to the issue of a court order so that the raid was carried out on a property where marijuana would be hidden among guadua (cane) sticks, and thus be transported clandestinely.

The 1,587 kilos of the narcotic were distributed in 161 guadua sticks, 140 bags and in a Van type vehicle which was in the same way found; this material would be valued at approximately 1,600 million pesos. According to information obtained by human source, marijuana came from the department of Cauca to be distributed to the north of Colombia and abroad. That cargo would belong to the residual Organized Armed Group, GAO-r, Dagoberto Ramos, which commits crimes in that department.

With the support of CTI (Technical Investigations Corps) officials of the Office of the Attorney-General of the Nation, the urgent operations were carried out and the material was put into custody of the authorities.
