Within the framework of the constitutional mission and in favor of the protection of children and adolescents, soldiers of the 26th Cacique Pigoanza Infantry Battalion, of the Ninth Brigade, recovered a minor who said he had been the victim of forced recruitment by the Residual Ismael Ruiz Organized Armed Group, in a rural area of the municipality of Tello, department of Huila.
The 13-year-old minor reported that he was pressured by members of this illegal armed group to forcibly join their ranks, a situation that constitutes a serious violation of human rights and a violation of international humanitarian law.
For three days he remained hidden in a mountainous area until he asked the people for help and then he went to the troops in the municipality of La Plata, who immediately activated the route of restoration of rights in the city of Neiva.
The National Army rejects these criminal practices used by residual organized armed groups, which attack children and seek to truncate the life project of the country's children and adolescents.
The Ninth Brigade reiterates its commitment to protect Huila people, especially vulnerable villages, and calls on citizens to denounce any fact of recruitment of minors through lines 147 and 107.
