The operation for the rights of minors was reported in the village of San Luis, municipality of Neiva.
The operations by the Ninth Brigade, through the Artillery Battalion N.° 9 Tenerife, led to the recovery of two minors who had been forcibly recruited by the substructure Ismael Ruiz, of the so called Central Bloc Comandante Isaías Pardo.
The 13- and 15-year-old boys were used by the ringleaders in the group for various crimes against the Military Forces and the inhabitants, thus violating the norms of international humanitarian law and human rights
The minors were taken to the city of Neiva and handed over to the Children and Adolescents Police, the institution in charge of carrying out the procedure before the ICBF (Colombian family wellbeing institute) for the restoration of their rights.
This action demonstrates the commitment of Colombian National Army to the protection of children and the fight against illegal recruitment. Six children have been rescued this year.
