In exchange for her freedom, the perpetrators demanded one hundred million pesos of the victim's relatives.

In the course of a coordinated and inter-institutional operation, with the Police and the Attorney General's Office, and thanks to the support of civilians, troops of the National Army obtained the release under pressure a shopkeeper who had been kidnapped on January 17 in the municipality of Palmira, Valle del Cauca, by alleged members of an organized gang.

After learning of the facts, the Military Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) began a search operation in the Calima neighborhood, in locality 4, northeast of Cali, to find the whereabouts of the woman.

According to what was reported, the 48-year-old businesswoman was kidnapped on arriving at her place of residence in the city of Palmira. The individuals held her, intercepted her, and put her in a vehicle headed for the city of Cali; days later the kidnappers moved her to the neighborhood where the release took place.

The merchant was taken to the facilities of the Military Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) Valle in Cali, where she was reunited with her husband and children and then taken to a hospital in the city to assess her state of health.
