liberados.jpg

Troops of the Artillery Battalion N.8 Batalla de San Mateo of the Eighth Brigade of the National Army, rescued, after military pressure, Mr. Rafael Humberto Ortega and Mrs. Gloria Amparo Maso, a couple of husband and wife, who had been kidnapped last July 1 on the road axis that connects the municipality of Tadó, department of Chocó, and the municipality of Pueblo Rico, in department of Risaralda.

The couple of merchants, native of Carmen de Atrato – Chocó, was found by troops in the sector of Itaurí municipality of Pueblo Rico - Risaralda, where the military arrived after more than 48 hours of intelligence and search work.

The couple has been intercepted last Monday, apparently, by members of the Cacique Calarcá Front - ELN, in order to demand an extortion payment for their release.

The couple was transferred to the Military Base of Pueblo Rico where they received priority assistance and then then they were taken to the capital city of Risaralda.
