In compliance with the Héroes de la Libertad Campaign Plan, troops of the National Army, through territorial control operations, found abundant war material of the residual Organized Armed Group Jaime Martínez.
The action took place last weekend in the municipality of Santa María, municipality of Dagua, in the department of Valle del Cauca, where the GAO-r members were inside a house guarding the weapons.
These individuals, upon noticing the work of the troops, escaped, but the rapid operation of the members of the Military Forces led to the arrest of one of them and the recovery of two minors.
Inside the building troops found a 40 mm grenade launcher, firearms, hand grenades, MGL grenades, ammunition units of different calibers, magazines, garments for the exclusive use of the Military Forces, five armbands alluding to the structure, several communications equipment and a vehicle.
The materials, as well as the individual arrested, were given to the authorities for their respective prosecution process.
The minors were put under the protection of the Colombian Family Wellbeing Institute (ICBF) in order to restore their rights.
With this result, the armed component of these criminal organizations, responsible for homicides, criminal acts and clashes with other structures of drug trafficking, is hit.
