In military operations, soldiers of the Twenty-Third Brigade of the National Army are conducting operations that provide security to the life and good physical condition of the inhabitants of the municipalities of the mountain range in the department of Nari帽o.

In the municipality El Desierto, municipality of Cumbitara, troops of the Infantry Battalion No.9 Batalla de Boyac谩, found three antipersonnel mines, which would have been planted by the Jos茅 Luis Ruales front of the Organized Armed Group (GAO), in order to Attack on the civilians and the Security forces that pass through the sector.

These devices had been planted on one of the roads that is used daily by inhabitants of the sector.  According to the protocols of International Humanitarian Law, the use of these elements is an infraction since they cause indiscriminate damages.

In this way, it is possible to destabilize the terrorist operation that was intended to create anxiety in the region, an operation that according to the organization Accion Contra Minas en Colombia has left 11,861 victims and at least 2,298 dead.
