Soldiers on the ground and by air, are currently being sent to face the outbreaks that were reported four days ago in the capital city of Tolima.
The Sixth Brigade of Colombian National Army, in support of the Tolima Governorate, deployed its resources to provide emergency support for a conflagration that has already damaged more than 100 hectares; in the same way 50 soldiers of the Infantry Battalion No.18 Coronel Jaime Rooke, on the ground are working to put out this forest fire.
In the same way, with the support of Colombian National Army aviation with the Bambi Bucket, which captures 2,500 liters of water, support is in the same way provided by air for this forest emergency that occurs in the rural area of the city of Ibague.
We continue in the area supporting the relief agencies that are in the same way operating, such as the Official Firefighters of Ibague, to attack the underground spot at the area, due to the high temperatures that occur these days that have reached 38 degrees and, at the point of the fire, they reach 61 degrees, according to information of the authorities.
We invite people to become aware of the phenomenon of EL Niño and to take actions to prevent these situations from being reported anymore.
