Both individuals would integrate the residual organized armed group Structure 10. Alias Garza would be in charge of preparing lists with the sectors and people in Casanare that would be the object of extortion of money, in addition to coordinating the distribution of extortion tickets and reporting payments or refusals directly to alias Sombrerón.
Troops of Colombian National Army, in the framework of joint, coordinated and inter-institutional military operations with the Colombian Navy, the Aerospace Force, the National Police and the Attorney General's Office, reported the arrest by judicial order of an individual identified as alias Garza Volando, alleged member of the support networks for the residual structures of the GAO-r E-10 Guadalupe Salcedo.
The operation took place in the municipality of Yopal, Casanare, and led to the neutralization of a key piece within the financial component of this criminal structure. Alias Garza would be responsible for collecting extortions in rural areas by distributing extortion tickets farm by farm, and would report directly to alias Sombrerón on the payments received and those who refused to pay.
According to intelligence work, this network had reached Bogotá, Villavicencio, Arauca and Yopal, consolidating itself as one of the main sources of financing for the residual organized armed group.
The arrested was put into custody of the First Specialized Prosecutor's Office of Arauca.
Through this result, Colombian National Army significantly hits the financial structure of the GAO-r E-10, weakening its criminal operations and mitigating the problem of extortion that hit inhabitants and producers of the region.
