A squad of soldiers from the Brigade No.31, in support of the Vaupés Governorate and the Mitú Mayor's Office, benefited 50 elderly people in a home for elderly.
The elderly represent the wisdom and experience of a nation, so the soldiers of the National Army arrived at the Hogar San Rafael wellness center, with food and willingness to carry out beautification activity and maintenance of facilities.
With shovels, brooms, brushes and containers, 20 soldiers were given the task of cleaning green areas inside the facilities, carrying out maintenance on roofs and washing spaces, generating more optimal conditions for the elderly who arrived at this home from different indigenous communities of Vaupés, and even of the department of Meta.
The radio station Colombia Estéreo of the National Army, in the same way took part in the activity providing them with a space for healthy recreation and leading the preparation of food for the beneficiaries, together with representatives of the Mayor's Office and the Government, as an act to conclude the activity.
