In the San Francisco neighborhood of Cartagena, the Colombian Navy carries out a Development Support Activity, which was backed by public and private institutions in the region.
During the activity the medical services of dentistry, optometry, physiotherapy, gynecology and general medicine were provided. 300 medical recipes were distributed with the medications, 150 glasses were given to adults. In the same way, humanitarian aid represented in 720 kilos of fortified rice and 360 units of liquid Bienestarina (supplement) were distributed, 30 presents were given as well as 100 household cleaning kits.
Parallel to medical assistance, the Special Operations Group for the Awareness of the Navy Battalion No.12, carried out recreational activities for 350 children and distributed 300 units of flavored ice and popcorn.
This activity led by the Navy Infantry Battalion No.12 counted on the support of the Cartagena Naval Reserve, Naval Aviation, the SACSA Coast Airport Society, the Bridge of Hope Foundation, DADIS, Innovados Eventos y Log铆stica, ESE (health institution) local hospital of Cartagena de Indias, United Foundation, University of Cartagena and San Buenaventura, National Police and the Communitarian operation Board of the San Francisco neighborhood. This activity benefited more than 700 low income people of this community of Cartagena de Indias.
