National Navy finds cocaine of the gang Clan del Golfo in the Naya River

The operations of fluvial control of the National Navy on the Naya River, one of the main tributaries of the Colombian Pacific, in the departments of Cauca and Valle del Cauca, led to the discovery of 109 kilograms of cocaine hydrochloride that would be transported to Central America.

During the operation, carried out by the troops of the Marine Infantry Brigade No. 2 of the Pacific Naval Force, the boat "Jamaica" was found in a stream in the area of Punta Ají – Cauca. This boat had been loaded by two individuals with the illegal shipment. The individuals when noticing the presence of the troops escaped.

The troops of the Navy Infantry Brigade No.2 following the security protocols proceeded to verify the ship, finding six bags and nine packages inside, which apparently due to its texture, packaging, characteristics and odor, were hydrochloride cocaine.

The troops took the ship to the facilities of the National Navy in the port of Buenaventura, in Valle del Cauca, where it was put into custody of the authorities, who tested the packages which left a positive result for 109 kilograms of cocaine hydrochloride.

The alkaloid, which would cost more than three and a half million dollars in the illegal international market, would go to Central America; it belonged to the organized armed group Clan del Golfo.
