National Navy saves the life of a family in the middle of the end of the year celebrations

The San Andrés y Providencia Specific Command saved the life of a family made up of three people, among them a minor of six years, who lost control of the Jetsky they were piloting, in waters of the tourist sector of San Andres Island.

After receiving the alert in the emergency number, where it was stated that this family was fighting for their lives after falling into the water, units of the Coast Guard Station of San Andrés immediately began a search and rescue operation through a Rapid Reaction Unit, which managed to find this family and Work to provide them with first aid through the firefighters of San Andres Island. Finally, the three members of the family were taken to the departmental hospital, to receive specialized medical assistance.

The tourists, who claimed to have rented the Jetsky in the zone where people usually provide these services on the streets of the island, claim that the climate conditions are currently adverse in the archipelagic department, and caused this tragic incident in which they almost lost their lives. Thanks to the child's mother carrying her cell phone in one of the plastic bags used for this purpose, they contacted directly with the National Police and finally with the Coast Guard Station of San Andrés, which in compliance with the security plan established for the holiday season, safeguarded the lives of these Colombians who were celebrating the holidays at the end of the year on the island.

In 2018, the Specific Command of San Andrés y Providencia managed to rescue 65 people in the middle of search and rescue operations, as well as the evacuation of 14 people, with serious health problems, who were satisfactorily treated.
