The largest multilateral operation against drug trafficking in history

 

The National Government, through the Colombian Navy as a leader in the fight against maritime drug trafficking, executed the VII of the Orion Naval Campaign, a multilateral effort that integrates means, Resources and intelligence, to carry out maritime, river, air and land operations coordinated with partner countries that share the interest of countering the world problem of illicit drugs.

 

Thanks to the coordinated operations that were carried out during the execution of the Naval Campaign Orion VII several results were achieved in the effective control of the sea, making the finding of 116 tons of cocaine hydrochloride and 95 tons of marijuana, ready to be sold and consumed, equivalent to 306 million doses.

 

The attack on transnational drug trafficking crime at different stages of drug production was possible by the seizure of 85 tons of solid precursors, 57,753 gallons of liquid precursors, two million of marijuana bushes, two tons of marijuana seeds and 237 tons of coca seeds.

 

In the same way, in a decisive blow against criminal structures through an integrated effort with the units of the National Army, 780 illegal infrastructures used for drug production were destroyed, damaging the production chain of this illegal substance.

 

Finally, in the course of operations to strike drugs logistics and finances, three semi-submarines and five aircraft were immobilized, 63 firearms with 2,342 rounds of ammunition were seized and more than 5,386 million pesos, 1,435,350 dollars, 48,255 lempiras, 16,500,000 euros and 2,052 reais were found by troops.
