Navy of Colombia leads health and wellness activity in Ovejas, Sucre

About 300 people were benefited thanks to the effort and commitment of the Military Forces and government institutions.

 

In the frame of the institutional commitment to accompany the development processes of the inhabitants of the Montes de María, the Colombian Navy led the Development Support Activity in the municipality of Ovejas, Sucre.

 

Thanks to the coordinated work of the Battalion No.14 of the Navy of Colombia, with the Municipal Mayor, the Ministry of Health and the E. S. E Health Center of Ovejas, benefited 280 people of the village Alemania, in the rural area of this municipality, who received medical services of vaccination, general consultation, gynecology tests and care in Dentistry.

 

In order to comply with the protocols ordered by the National Government for the Prevention of COVID-19 and provide tools to civilians on the importance of self-care to prevent contagion, talks were given on hand washing, correct use of the face mask and procedures for cleaning and disinfection of surfaces.

 

In the same way, the attendants were trained in topics such as stress management and healthy habits, conducting psychosocial and recreational accompaniment to the attending minors, while 100 school and biosecurity kits and 375 units of Bienestarina (food supplement) were distributed to support the healthy diet of children in the region, under 10 years.
