Crew members of the Colombian Navy coordinated efforts with the staff of the Mayor's Office of San Juan Nepomuceno, the Unidos Foundation and the Campesinos Heroicos Foundation, with the purpose of providing support to the inhabitants of the village of San Agustín, in the municipality of San Juan Nepomuceno in the department of Bolívar.

Through videos and telephone calls, the inhabitants of San Agustín requested the Naval Institution to carry out a medical activity for the children and elderly of the village, for which, troops of the Navy Infantry River Battalion No.17 and the Navy Infantry Battalion No.13 deployed their boats and tactical vehicles to transport food, medicines and Military Health medical personnel, in order to provide support to the community.

This is how a health activity was carried out in a coordinated way with the local authorities and volunteers of the different foundations, benefiting approximately 700 people with care in pediatrics, general medicine, internal medicine, dentistry, gynecology and vaccination. In the same way, the inhabitants received medicines, food baskets with basic food of the family basket and Bienestarina (food supplement).

According to what was mentioned by the medical staff, about 80 percent of the patients diagnosed with arterial hypertension were not being controlled, since they lacked the necessary medicines for the treatment, while the other 20 percent who had the medicines did not know how and when they should take them, concerns that were resolved by the Military Health personnel of the Naval Institution.

Similarly, the Navy River Battalion No.17 deployed its logistical resources and human talent for the benefit of the communities hit by the overflow of the Magdalena River due to the wave caused by rains.

On this occasion, with the support of the National Unit for Disaster Risk Management, 5.1 tons of humanitarian aid were transported and unloaded from the city of Montería - Córdoba to the village of Guataca in the municipality of Mompox - Bolívar, benefiting 300 families with basic food kits.

The Caribbean Naval Force brought the Unified operation of the State to two hard-to-reach villages in the department of Bolívar, with medical services and distribution of emergency humanitarian assistance benefiting 1,000 people.
