During 2020, the Colombian Army managed to declare 29 municipalities free of anti-personnel mines.

Within the framework of the Forum commitment for Colombia held in Ibagu茅, Tolima, the presidency of the Republic declared 25 new municipalities free of anti-personnel mines, 17 of them were decontaminated by the National Army.

Those municipalities are Chiscas, Pesca (Boyac谩), Norcasia and R铆o Sucio (Caldas), La Sierra and San Sebastian (Cauca), Chimichagua and Chiriguan谩 (Cesar), Neiva, and Palermo (Huila), San Juan Palermo (La Guajira), Granada (Meta), Linares and T煤querres (Nari帽o), Sucre (Santander), Dolores and Ortega (Tolima).

348 events were reported for contamination of anti-personnel mines, four were intervened with the manual clearance technique in Neiva, Palermo (Huila) Sucre (Santander) and Norcasia (Caldas) and the remaining 13 were cleared thanks to the contribution of information of the community.

With this presentation, more than 484,000 square meters were decontaminated, thus benefiting nearly 800,000 Colombians who will now be able to undertake their productive projects and walk safely through their lands.

This year the soldiers ensured 135 humanitarian demining operations throughout the country, decontaminating 2,282,425 square meters and destroying 155 explosive devices.
