This structure obeys direct orders from alias Ivan Mordisco.
The Ninth Brigade, through the Field Artillery Battalion No. 9 Tenerife, the Metropolitan Police of Neiva, the Colombian Aerospace Force and the Attorney General's Office, carried out an operation in the village of La Unión, a rural area of the municipality of Aipe, where in a teamwork and integration of resources that led to strike a component of the residual organized armed group Central Bloc Isaías Pardo, Structure Ismael Ruiz, mobile company Julián González.
During the procedure, five people were arrested in flagrante delicto; however, due to the preliminary hearings, two of them were released by court decision.
In the same way, four minors were recovered, remaining under the protection of the authority for the restoration of their rights. This operation highlights the serious and systematic violation of Human Rights and International Humanitarian Law, evidenced in the illegal recruitment of young people for criminal purposes.
Five long weapons, six short weapons, a fragmentation grenade, an improvised explosive device, two stun grenades, ammunition, magazines, vests, radio communication equipment, binoculars, banners alluding to the illegal armed group were found by troops at the scene.
In the same way, among the materials, a drone was in the same way found, a technological means used for reconnaissance, route surveillance and attacks against the Military Forces, which represents a direct loss to the criminal resources of the structure.
According to the investigations, this group would be responsible for carrying out extortion activities, selective homicides and forced displacements in the municipalities of Neiva, Palermo, Aipe, Yaguará, Iquira, Teruel, Santa María and the municipalities of Ataco and Planadas in Tolima. The neutralization of its military, human and logistical capacity limits its intention to carry out operations against the inhabitants and the military and police units in the territory.
The Ninth Brigade reaffirms its commitment to the security of the department of Huila communities and will continue to carry out sustained and in-depth operations to prevent the expansion and consolidation of structures that intend to disrupt regional tranquility.
