Neutralization of dredgers in eastern Colombia

Neutralizaci贸n de dragas en el oriente colombiano

In a powerful inter-institutional operation led by the Military Forces and judicial agencies, a strategic operation was carried out, which led to the neutralization of 15 dredgers and machinery used for the illicit extraction of mining deposits in the Iteviare River, Ca帽o Cumaral in Cumaribo department of Vichada.

The joint and interagency operation was executed by Colombian National Army, National Navy and the Colombian Aerospace Force that contributed its resources for the analysis of images, intelligence flights and transportation of the personnel of the Technical Research Corps (CTI), thus strengthening the unified operation to combat crimes that threaten the security and sustainability of the country.

The dredgers allegedly belonged to the structure of the Residual Organized Armed Group (GAO-r) Structure 39 Arcesio Ni帽o, which commits crimes in the area and obtains resources through illegal activities, damaging the environment and law and order.

These operations ratify the permanent commitment of the Colombian Aerospace Force to the defense of the country's natural resources, the strengthening of territorial control and joint, coordinated and inter-institutional work with the other branches and institutions of the State to work for the promotion of the security and well-being of Colombians.
