In units of the Colombian Navy in a joint and coordinated operation with the National Army and the National Police, found an illegal hiding place with 100 Improvised Explosive Devices - IEDs, in a rural area of the Special District of Buenaventura – Valle del Cauca.

Intelligence information of the High Mountain Battalion No.3 of the National Army, led the troops of the Navy Infantry River Battalion No.24 and the Explosives and Demining Company No.2 of the Colombian Navy, to arrive at village 8, sector Potedó in rural Buenaventura, where they found a barrel hidden in a wooded area, which contained inside the 100 Improvised Explosive Devices, IED, type anti-personnel mine, with pressure activation system, composed of 120 kilograms of ANFO-type explosive.

It is presumed that these anti-personnel mines belonged to the Residual Organized Armed Group Structure 6, Jaime Martínez Mobile Column, who intended to plant them in the areas where the Military Forces carry out operations against criminal groups in the Pacific region.

In compliance with article 256 of Law 906 of 2004, which deals with evidentiary material elements, the explosives were destroyed in the place by a specialized team of the Colombian Navy.
