According to the investigations, improvised explosive devices could have hit the inhabitants who pass through this region every day.
In the framework of stability operations carried out by the soldiers of the Quirón Task Force and the Eighteenth Brigade of Colombian National Army, and thanks to military intelligence information and area search, three explosive devices were found by troops in several areas in the department of Arauca.
In the first action, in the village Tame, in the sector known as the Ye of the Andes, on the edge of the road, at the time of carrying out a search procedure with the explosives and demolitions expert group EXDE, a large-sized cache containing explosives was found underground.
In the same way, in the village of San Pedro de Fortul, in the middle of a wooded area, two other means of launching with explosives are found.
According to the information provided, these improvised explosive devices belonged to the organized armed group ELN, which were destroyed in controlled conditions by the unit's explosives and demolition expert soldiers.
In this way, Colombian National Army reaffirms its commitment to security and stability in the region, working for the life of the Arauca people and Colombians in general.
