People would have denounced the existence of explosive device on an access road to a school.
Within the framework of military operations, soldiers of Colombian National Army, through their explosive device handling resources, neutralized a terrorist operation on a secondary road in Puerto León, municipality of Cúcuta, Department of Norte de Santander. In the place there were elements alluding to the Organized Armed Group, GAO, ELN.
The military, attending the call of the community, which had denounced the possible existence of an explosive device with messages alluding to minefield and an ELN flag, blocked the transit of people to a school, putting besides at risk the lives of children, adolescents and adults in the region.
Deploying all the resources and after securing the area, the device was neutralized in controlled conditions, without generating any type of damage.
After the device was destroyed, a review was carried out in the area and free mobility in the sector was restored.
