The explosives were on a pedestrian crossing, impeding the free mobility of the inhabitants.
In the last few hours, soldiers of Colombian National Army neutralized an area prepared with three explosive devices that were on a pedestrian crossing in a rural area of the municipality of El Zulia, Department of Norte de Santander.
The soldiers were conducting operations in the area, when they saw three improvised explosive devices, ready to be activated against the troops.
Once the area was secured, using all the technical and tactical procedures for the neutralization of explosives, the controlled destruction was carried out, without generating any damage to the people or to the troops.
The residual organized armed group Structura 33 has interference in this area.
It should be noted that, according to the experts' verifications, these explosives would not have been planted in the area for more than eight days, which indicates a flagrant violation of the ceasefire, as well as of human rights and international humanitarian law.
Colombian National Army continues to carry out operations that contribute to safeguarding the life and tranquility of the people.
