Neutralization of two members of the Organized Residual Armed Group in Nariño

Nariño. In recent hours, heavy and strong firefights have been engaged by troops of to the Joint Task Force Hercules against Organized Armed Groups in the department of Nariño.

 

The strong firefights were reported in operations conducted in the site known as the hamlet Tasdan, rural area of ​​the municipality of Tumaco, in the department of Nariño, where troops of the Rapid Deployment Force No. 2 - FUDRA2 - of the National Army, of the Joint Task Force Hercules, found a transitory camp zone and clashed with members of the Organized Residual Armed Group of the so-called "United Guerrillas of the Pacific", belonging to the commission of alias "El Pana", at the service of alias "David."

 

As a result, so far, two members of this illegal armed group and a third individual, whose connection to this group has not yet to be established, were killed in the course of the military operation. In the same way, troops seized a 9 mm pistol, a shotgun, eight magazines for different weapons, 800 ammunition cartridges caliber 5.56 millimeters and military garments.

 

The military operation continues in the area in the frame of the Military and Police Campaign "Atlas" conducted by the General Command of the Military Forces throughout the country.

 

Task Force Hercules will continue working on its mission to conduct joint, coordinated and interinstitutional military operations to bring to justice or neutralize members of Organized Armed Groups (GAO), exercising institutional control of the territory, protecting the population, re-establishing the Social State ruled by Law and border stability and sovereignty.
