The driver of the vehicle was arrested for the crime of drug trafficking, while trying to pass this hallucinogen in the tires of heavy-duty vehicles.
The union of forces for the security and well-being of the Huila inhabitants led troops of the Cacique Pigoanza Infantry Battalion N.°26, the Light Cavalry Group N.° 6 and the Transit and Transport Police of Huila, to neutralize the drug trafficking plans to pass through roads of the department, an important illegal marijuana merchandise.
Apparently the narcotic had been obtained in Cauca, and of there, the 745 kilos of marijuana, in 685 packages, were hidden in tires of heavy-duty vehicles.
The substance with an initial cost of $1,117,000,000 was planned to be taken out of the country, and it had the Colombian flag as a trademark, as a strategy to identify its origin.
The interception operation was possible in the village of Matanza, in the municipality of La Plata, Huila, during the travel of a suspicious vehicle that was traveling towards the sector known as the Ye of San Andrés.
For the crime of trafficking, manufacturing and carrying narcotics, the man driving the vehicle was arrested, who, along with the illicit substance and the truck, was put into custody of the authority for the prosecution process.
This powerful blow to drug trafficking in Huila demonstrates the effectiveness of inter-institutional coordination. The finding of this significant amount of marijuana, destined for international markets, represents a serious blow to the finances of criminal organizations and contributes to efforts to increase the safety and well-being of the inhabitants of the department.
