The controlled destruction of these constructions specialized in the illegal production of drugs disturbs the illegal activities of the armed group by 2,672 million pesos and prevents the commercialization of 405,000 doses of cocaine in Central America and the United States.
Within the framework of Operation Catatumbo, troops of the Command Against Drug Trafficking and Transnational Threats (CONAT), in coordination with the National Police, found in 2 military operations carried out in the rural area of Tibú and El Zulia, department of Norte de Santander, 7 laboratories for the production of illicit substances and 2 coca bush seedlings.
In the first military operation carried out in the village of La India, Alto San Miguel, in Tibú, 6 illegal structures destined to the production of coca paste base that would be part of the illicit activities of the organized armed group, GAO, ELN, Frente Luis Enrique León Guerra were destroyed in a controlled conditions.
1,740 gallons of suspended coca base paste, 1,440 gallons of diesel petroleum and 879 kilograms of solid precursors necessary for the production of narcotics were found by troops at the site.
In the same way, 2 seedbeds for the germination of coca seedlings with 6,000 plants were disabled.
Meanwhile, in the village of Campo Alicia, in the municipality of El Zulia, the second military operation was carried out, where the troops of the Brigade Against Drug Trafficking No. 2 found a laboratory for the production of cocaine hydrochloride that would belong to the ELN, Juan Fernando Porras Martínez Front, would cost 2672 million pesos. There they found 405 kilograms of cocaine hydrochloride, 149 kilograms of coca paste base, 105 gallons of cocaine hydrochloride in suspension and 151 gallons of DIESEL.
Through intelligence information, it was found that the drug produced in these coca-growing complexes would be marketed in Central American countries and the United States. In the same way, the circulation of approximately 405,000 doses of cocaine was prevented.
