With the deployment of the resources of the Comprehensive Action section, the Military Transport Air Command – CATAM carried out a Medical and Humanitarian Assistance Activity in the municipality of Funza, department of Cundinamarca, benefiting 641 elderly people. The activity was possible thanks to the coordinated work conducted by the Colombian Aerospace Force, the Mayor's Office of Funza, the Sentipensante Foundation, the Fernando Murillo Foundation, the Professional Officers of the Colombian Aerospace Force Reserve and the private health sector.
During the activity, about 50 doctors and health professionals provided free of charge care in specialties such as dentistry, maxillofacial surgery, optometry, psychology, dermatology and physiotherapy, in addition to work to provide services aimed at health promotion and prevention. This intervention managed to bring specialized care to a priority people and strengthen their well-being.
This activity shows the permanent commitment of the Colombian Aerospace Force to the execution of acts of high social impact, integrating institutional resources and strategic alliances to contribute to the well-being of the communities and strengthen coordination with public, private institutions and social organizations.
Through initiatives such as this, the Military Transport Air Command continues to project the resources of the Colombian Aerospace Force beyond air operations, reaffirming its vocation for service and its commitment to the protection, development and improvement of the quality of life of Colombians.
