A firearm, ammunition and items of military accessories were seized during the military procedure.
As part of the military operations aimed at maintaining territorial control in the department of Nariño, soldiers of the Direct Action and Reconnaissance Battalion No. 2, unit a of the Rapid Deployment Force No. 2 of Colombian National Army, in conjunction with the Colombian Navy and with the judicial support of the National Police, engaged clashes with alleged members of the residual organized armed group (GAO-r) National Coordinator Bolivarian Army (Coordinadora Nacional Ejército Bolivariano), Jacobo Arenas Structure.
The events were reported in the vicinity of the Yarumal village, Roberto Payán municipality, department of Nariño , after an arduous work of information gathering by military intelligence. In this way, fighting began against the illegal group, resulting in the death in the framework of military operations of a male individual; a person was arrested.
A rifle, 95 rounds of ammunition, magazines, elements of military accessories, handcuffs, a drone control and a notebook that is already being analyzed were seized at the scene, which would contain possible information of interest to the authorities.
The man was the put into custody of the authorities along with the evidentiary elements, in order to conduct the relevant judicial procedures.
