Troops of the Nineteenth Brigade of Colombian National Army in a joint work with the Colombian Aerospace Force and coordinated with the National Police, engaged a combat against the organized armed group GAO Clan del Golfo, in rural area of Tiquisio, south of the department of Bolivar.
The operation resulted in the death in the framework of military operations of an alleged member of the Erlín Pino Duarte substructure, of this group outlaw, and the surrender to justice of another individual, who will take refuge in the Humanitarian Assistance Group to the Demobilized.
In addition to these results, a handgun, 2 scanner-type radios, 3 cell phones, a piece of campaign equipment and 300 radio batteries were found by troops at the scene. Both the material and the lifeless body were put into custody of the authority.
This result of the military operation represents a significant blow to the structures of the GAO Clan del Golfo that commits crimes in this region of the country, and ratifies the commitment of Colombian National Army in the fight against illegal armed groups to provide security and tranquility to the department of Bolivar.
