The individual would be alias Condor or Condorito, dangerous member of this illegal group with a long criminal record. One of his bodyguards in the same way died. The troops remain at the site, in order to counter any criminal actions against the inhabitants.
Within the framework of military operations aimed at combating the resources of the threat, troops of the Military Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) Bajo Cauca of Colombian National Army and the Technical Investigation Corps (CTI) of the Attorney General's Office, engaged combats against the organized armed group (GAO) Clan del Golfo, resulting in the death within the framework of the operation of two alleged members of this illegal organization.
The events were reported in the village of Tierradentro, in the municipality of Montelíbano, department of Córdoba, where it was in the same way possible to find two handguns, a rifle, 5 magazines, 296 cartridges of different calibers, 3 cell phones and a motorcycle.
According to the information provided by the intelligence of the Military Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) Sinú, one of the deceased would be known as alias Condor or Condorito, alleged ringleader of the focused criminal component of the Rubén Darío Ávila Substructure; the other individual killed during the operation would be in charge of his security.
Alias Condor or Condorito would have an approximate time of 8 years in the illegal organization, and would have as an area of criminal interference the municipalities of Puerto Libertador, Montelíbano, Planeta Rica and San José de Uré, Córdoba department.
In 2021, the aforementioned individual allegedly participated in the activation of a minefield as an NPR vehicle passed by in the village of Liborina in the municipality of Puerto Libertador, a terrorist action in which 5 soldiers were killed and 7 more were injured.
In the same way, he would be responsible for the ambush by activating an explosive device and rifle bursts that left 7 police officers injured, in events that occurred in 2022 in the village of Las Claritas in this same municipality.
Alias Cóndor is in the same way accused of the kidnapping and torture of two non-commissioned officers of Colombian National Army, in addition to the theft of their equipment weapons and the official motorcycle, events that occurred in the year 2024 in the village El Doce de Tarazá, department of Antioquia.
Additionally, he is allegedly responsible for the murder of two people in a rural area of Valdivia, Antioquia department, who were accused of collaborating with the security forces.
This year, he is also alleged to have carried out criminal acts against police and military personnel in Remedios, Valdivia, and Cáceres, Antioquia department, during the armed strike, following the death of alias Chirimoya during operations.
Finally, he is accused of participating in the murder of two soldiers of the Light Infantry Battalion N.° 33 Junín, in the village of Tierra Santa, of Buenavista, department of Córdoba.
Alias Cóndor is in the same way accused of forced displacements and the collection of money from extortion made against different productive groups in the south of the Cordoba region and the Bajo Cauca of Antioquia.
The items found were put into custody of the authorities for the execution of urgent acts and to continue with the respective judicial processes.
Through this result, the GAO Clan del Golfo loses a ringleader with extensive criminal experience in terrorist operations against the inhabitants and the Military Forces, which weakens the armed component of this illegal organization.
