This situation was evidenced by a document found in a procedure of the Ninth Brigade of Colombian National Army.
The Dagoberto Ramos Structure, in addition to managing its own illicit plantations, in the same way demands payments from growers to led them to transport every kilogram of marijuana from Cauca to other departments of the country.
The operation, carried out by the Ninth Brigade of Colombian National Army, through the High Mountain Battalion No. 9, with the support of the Huila Military Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) and in coordination with the CTI (Technical Investigations Corps) of the Prosecutor's Office, led to the arrest of an individual and the finding of 286 kilos of creepy-type marijuana, which were transported in a van.
Thanks to intelligence work and the constant operations carried out on the road axis that are part of the operations to mitigate early warnings issued by the Ombudsman's Office, it was possible to intercept the vehicle and conduct a thorough search. There, 256 packages of narcotics were found by troops hidden under baskets used as a facade. The driver said he was on his way to pick a harvest.
The marijuana, whose value in the local market is estimated at 229 million pesos, was marked with logos that apparently identified the buyer. The cargo was destined for countries such as Peru and Brazil, where its price could reach 1,700 million pesos.
Through this finding, approximately 572,000 doses of marijuana are stopped from reaching the streets, where their distribution has a particular impact on children and young people, who are often the targets of these networks.
This result represents a powerful blow to the finances of drug trafficking and a key step in the protection of the most vulnerable communities.
One of the most revealing elements of the operation was the finding of a handwritten receipt evidencing the collection of money by 30,000 pesos for each kilogram transported. The document, signed with an alias linked to the armed group, confirms the existence of an extortion system through which the Dagoberto Ramos Structure controls strategic drug trafficking routes, imposing illegal tariffs on growers and transporters to move their shipments through the region.
This operation not only stops the flow of hallucinogenic substances to international markets, but in the same way exposes one of the extortion networks with which this organization finances its criminal activities.
