In parallel with the deployment of the security operation for the presidential elections, it was possible the finding of more than 600 kilos of cocaine hydrochloride and 1.7 tons marijuana.

Two decisive maritime interception operations carried out by units of the Colombian Navy in the Colombian Pacific, resulted in the finding of 2,428 kilograms of narcotic substances, preventing the entry of more than 33 million dollars to the FARC dissident group, the sixth Jaime Martínez.

According to Naval Intelligence information indicating the departure of two ships with narcotics from the Valle del Cauca’s coasts, the first maritime interception operation was launched using Rapid Reaction Units of the Buenaventura Coast Guard Station, which found the speedboats, each manned by two individuals, sailing at high speeds in the central Pacific.

After several hours of pursuit at sea, the boats El Creador lo es Todo and El Catador were intercepted, and later verified by members of the Military Forces, who detected suspicious compartments, apparently with hidden illicit substances. The two boats and the four individuals, were brought up to Buenaventura – Valle del Cauca, where coordinated with officials of the Technical staff of the Prosecutor's Investigation, a thorough inspection was conducted and it was possible to find 333 packets in each one of the ships, which were then conducted to the Test whose result was positive for 660,9 kilograms of cocaine.

The drug was found and subsequently destroyed in controlled conditions, while the individuals were put into custody of the authorities.

In the second operation, 90 nautical miles from Tumaco, Nariño, Units of the Tumaco Coast Guard Station that were conducting maritime control and security patrols, detected and recovered 48 sacks that were drifting at sea, which contained inside packages with substances as similar to marijuana; the sacks had apparently been abandoned by drug traffickers upon noticing the work of the authorities.

In the place, the judicial authority practiced the rigorous tests to the substance a found in the bags 1 767 kilograms of marijuana.

In May 2022, the Pacific Naval Force through the Anti-Drug Trafficking Task Force No.72 Poseidon, has carried out 27 operations against transnational crime of drug trafficking in Colombia’s Pacific coast, leaving positive results such as the finding  of 7 656 kilograms of cocaine and 10 969 kilograms of marijuana found; as well as 14 speedboats and two semi submarines intercepted; 16 cocaine base paste production laboratories and a cocaine production and crystallization complex destroyed, in which 2,465 gallons of liquid precursors and more than 3.4 tons of solid precursors were in the same way destroyed.
