At the time of the inter-institutional operation, six people were captured.
Intelligence operations work led to counteract the environmental damage caused by the illegal activity of mining acts in rural areas of the municipality of El铆as, in the department of Huila. An inter-institutional operation conducted by troops of the Special Energy and Road Battalion No.12 of the Ninth Brigade, the Technical Research Corps, CTI, and the Regional Autonomous Corporation of Alto Magdalena, CAM.
The operation took place on the village La Oruga. There the unified operation arrived finding personnel processing stone material in crusher plant, excavations in a section of the Magdalena River, the felling of two trees and the inadequate processes of dangerous elements derived from fuels.
At the same time, the seizure of three dump trucks, a front loader and a backhoe, took place. They were put into custody of the Prosecutor's Office as physical evidence of the operation.
Six people were immediately captured for the crime of illegal exploitation of mining deposits and other materials, as defined in article 338 of the Criminal Code.
