The troops of the Cauca Specific Command continue to work in this operation to stabilize the territory, whose purpose is to provide security conditions in the south of the department. During the clashes, three individuals accused of being part of this armed group died. One of our soldiers was killed in the line of duty to protect the people of this region of the country.
In compliance with the constitutional mission and under the guidelines of the Ayacucho Operations Campaign Plan, troops of the National Army continue to carry out military operations against the Residual Organized Armed Group, GAO-r, Carlos Pati帽o in the Los Pinos sector, of the municipality of Argelia, in the south of Cauca, with the aim of providing security conditions in this area disputed by criminal organizations.
After recent crossfires, the soldiers neutralized three individuals accused of being part of this armed group, these criminal operations continuously put the inhabitants of rural areas in Argelia at risk. This result complements the neutralization of the menace of two more individuals, which occurred last Saturday within the framework of the operations.
According to military intelligence reports, the clashes with this residual structure would have left more of its members injured, a situation that is being verified by the troops on the place, as well as by the corresponding authorities.
On the other hand, the National Army regrets the death in the framework of this operation of Soldier Edwin Juli谩n 脩谩帽ez V茅lez, of the Rapid Deployment Battalion No.12, killed while fulfilling his mission to defend the inhabitants of Cauca in the south of the department.

In the same way, two more soldiers were injured, who were evacuated of the site to receive medical assistance, and their health condition is stable.
This operation represents the recovery of the territory, as well as the destabilization of GAO-r Carlos Pati帽o, whose operations, including the installation of minefields, violate human rights and violate the provisions of international humanitarian law.
